Arr Ye Matey!!! Pirates Life For Me!!!

A week ago (Sept 26th) I took Zachary to the eye doctor because Todd and I have noticed that his right eye tends to wander off every now and then. I was a little concerned about it plus it creeped Todd and I out, so off to the doctor we went. The doctor said that he does have a lazy eye but in both eyes. At this point he doesn't need glasses so we are going to try the patch to "train" both eyes. What we do is put 1 patch on one eye for an hour a day and then do the same thing but on the other eye and so on and we do this for the next 3 months. Then when we see his doctor on Dec 29th we will see how his eyes are and he'll (the dr) determine if Zach will need glasses or surgery. And as for the patches go Zachary doesn't like them but he's starting to get use to the fact that its part of his daily routine now. He just hates it when we take it off because its like ripping a band aid off. Poor kid.

Waiting for the doctor to come see baby boy

Check out the cool glasses they gave Zach since they dilated his eyes

Allie's Party

Yesterday was Allie's birthday and we decided to have a little get together with a couple of friends. Before we all got together Todd and I took Allie to the movie plex to play in the arcade for a while. She loved the "racing" game because she could pretend drive. Allie was able to Skype with nana and papa and open the present from them - a fun, new camera (which btw mom she LOVES). Then our friends Elbee, Matt, Chris and Amber came over for dinner, cake and to celebrate Allie's birthday. She had a great day and was so happy that they came.

Baby's First Buzz

Today we decided it was time to give lil Zachary a hair cut. I haven't been able to spike his hair for a while and I miss doing it. I didn't want to pay $12.00 or whatever the salons charge so Todd just buzzed him. It turned out pretty good even though Zach moved the whole time.

This picture shows how shaggy his hair was on top. It was pretty long, well longer than Todd and I liked.

Daddy using the clippers, baby boy wasn't a big fan of them.

The hair that will go in Zach's "First hair cut" baggie for his baby book.

The front view. Zach moved around a lot so we couldn't get it as even as we wanted but it still looks nice and I can spike it again without is curling :o)

The back view, I love it!!!

11 Months!!!

Our sweet baby boy is 11 months today!!! One more month and he'll be turning ONE! I cant believe how fast time is flying. He is such a happy and fun baby and loves playing with his big sister. He's been doing great. Next month we'll hopefully find out if he'll need a "boot" on his foot to help straighten it out so we'll see about that. But until then here's what Zachy boy's been up to over the past month:

* He now has 7 teeth. The seventh one just broke through (4 on top, 3 on bottom)
* He is doing better when he drinks from his sippy cup.
* Zachary loves to say "dada" but throws "mama" in every once in a while.
* Zach isn't a fan of baths again. He does okay once I sit him in the tub but once I pour some water on him he starts to get upset and tries to climb out. Its sad but cute.
* He has a bad case of separation anxiety. He gets so upset when anyone leaves the room he's in.
* He can stand for about 5-15 seconds here or there.
* Zachary loves to walk with his little walker that we have.
* He's started reaching for Todd and I and it's made me so happy.

Never Forget!

Ten years ago I was in my 2nd period photography class and I had a fun time in class like usual (Photography was one of my favorite subjects). We'd just gotten all cleaned up and were waiting for "channel one" to come one. Then that's when we all found out about what had happened. I was in complete shock, I couldn't believe what I was watching. My heart was breaking for those in New York and for their families.
Last night and this morning I started to watch some documentaries about 9/11 and I've just been sobbing through every one I've watched. And the 9/11 Memorial they built in New York is beautiful. I hope to visit it someday.

A friend of mine posted this poem as their status on FaceBook and I just wanted to share it with you all. I got a little teary eyed when I read it so hope it touched your heart like it did mine:

Now I lay me down to sleep...
One less terrorist this world does keep...
With all my heart I give my thanks...
To those in uniform regardless of ranks...
You serve our country and serve it well...
With humble hearts your stories tell...
So as I rest my weary eyes...
While freedom rings our flag still flies...
You give your all, do what you must...
With God we live and God we trust...
Thank You

We Love Shoes!!!

I finally broke down and bought Allie a new pair of tennis shoes, which BTW she loves! And I also finally bought Zachary some shoes. My mom also bought him some cute little sandals. Now Zach isn't use to them so he's not a fan of them but he looks so cute in them. He's also been able to stand up for 10-15 seconds when he wears them. Which I think is pretty awesome it watch. I also am hoping with him now starting to wear shoes that his left foot will straighten out but I'll get more into that around his 1st birthday after we see the doctor about it again.

Both kids showing off their new tennis shoes. Dont they look so adorable?

Again wearing his new tennis shoes.

Here Zachary is standing up all my himself. Such a big boy!!!
