**~** Allie May Mackay **~**

Our baby girl is finally here :)
Todd and I went in on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 9pm to be induced (Yes, a week and a half before my due date. Aren't I lucky!). My cervix wasn't dilated/softened far enough. So they put stuff on my cervix to help soften it up, they had to put stuff on twice but it finally got there ;p I was at 1/2 cm still and by 6:45am I was at 2 cm so they started me on the Pitocin. I am not a big fan of that stuff and neither was Allie. After an hour of being on it I started to have really bad contractions that were 1 minute apart. I was put on oxygen because every time I had a contraction Allies heart rate would sky rocket. So it was putting a lot of stress on her so they stopped the Pitocin for awhile and when they put it in my IV, I had to be given small amounts of it through out the day. Around 7:50am my doctor broke my water and that just made things even more painful so they let me get my epidural and I was only dilated to a 2. I got the epidural at 9:35am and around 1pm something I was dilated to a 3. Slowly getting there. Well at around 2:30pm they came to put this thing on my cervix to help keep track of the contractions better and also to see how far along I was. I was dilated to a 10. So it was baby time :) So at a quarter to 3 the nurse had me start pushing and once Allie started crowning we had to wait about 10 minutes for my doctor and once my doctor got there she had me push one or two times and Allie came!
I was so lucky to have a short labor and delivery and with no complications. I was only in labor for about 11 1/2 hours and I only pushed for about 15-20 minutes.
Allie was born on September 24, 2008 at 3:12pm. She was 5 lbs 9 oz 19 in. She passed her APGAR test with flying colors - 8 & 9. She is such a wonderful baby! We were suppose to leave Friday morning but Allie was test for jaundice so she had to stay over night to help get rid of it. I was able to stay with her. I know a lot of baby's get jaundice but it was really hard to see her there under the lights. And the hardest part was I couldn't hold her unless I was feeding her. But being under the lights for 24 hours helped because we got to bring her home today and we didn't have to bring the lights with us :) But we do have to go back to the pediatrician on Monday so they can check her levels again. We are crossing our fingers that they have stayed down.
But like I said she is such a wonderful baby. She rarely cries and if she does cry it's not a loud cry. She just likes to sleep and eat. And she is cute as a button. We are so lucky to have her as a member of our family! We love her so so much!!!

Seconds after her arrival

Me with my beautiful baby girl minutes after giving birth.

Isn't she beautiful?

Under the lights

Look how big the newborn diaper is on her.

Going home!!!

Welcome home little one!

Guessing Game Results

Well after looking at the Guessing Game poll, here are the 2 that came right on or pretty close.

Birthday: Charlene, a friend from high school, guess right on with September 24.

Weight: Shannon, a friend in the ward, came close with 5 lbs 10 oz 19 in

Good job and thanks to those who all participated. It was fun to watch the number of guesses grow and to see what everyone thought.

Good Bye Maggie

Well yesterday was my last day at my work. My maternity leave officially starts on Monday the 22nd but I'm not planning on going back. We are just using my maternity leave for now that way if I do need to work, I'll have a job to go back to. But I'm excited to finally not work there anymore but I am really going to miss all the friends that I had made over the past 2 years. With me not working now I am really going to have to find ways to keep me busy and my time occupied so that I don't go insane wait for our little girl to arrive ;p

No baby

Still no baby yet. I really am NOT liking this waiting game. And neither is Todd. I've been walking pretty much every day since last week hoping that would help with the contractions and dilation... Well it didn't. I saw my doctor today and I'm STILL 1/2 cm dilated and I am only 50% effaced, not 80 :( So I guess I have to walk harder huh? ;p But I am contracting more. When I was having my NST done I actually felt my contractions and saw the needle thing move as they were happening. It was pretty cool. I'm not a fan of them, but I'm just glad they don't hurt yet. I do have good news though... NO MORE NST's. How awesome is that??? I'm pretty stoked about that. But anywhoo, I guess we'll see what next week brings.

UGH!!!

Well still no new news on the baby front. I had my doctors appointment today. I am still 1/2 centimeter dilated and I think she said I was 80% effaced. So it doesn't look like Allie will be coming anytime soon. She's measuring 3 weeks behind now instead of the usual 2 BUT she's almost to 5 pounds though :) she's about 4 pounds 14 ounces. So she'll be around 5 1/2 to 6 pounds when I have her *hooray!!! But yeah... I am now for sure having to get 2 NST a week. So I go in again Friday, next Monday and Thursday :( I'm not completely sure why but the specialist I see feels like I need them. I don't but I guess it's not up to me huh? Well that's all for the baby news, other than I'm holding up. I'm really uncomfortable and I cant really sleep at night now. But that just comes with being pregnant ;p 3 1/2 more weeks till our little one arrives. So exciting!!!

Baby Shower #2

Yesterday my mom put on my second baby shower for me. This one was for all my family. I had such a nice time. We had it in my mom's backyard since the weather was so nice. With it being so nice I actually got a sunburn (my first sunburn of the year). My arms are pretty sore and feel like they are on fire :( But other than getting sunburned - I had a wonderful time. It was nice to see family members that I haven't seen in a while. Thanks mom for such a wonderful shower!!!

So many clothes!!! It's crazy

We got our travel system. I was so excited about it - I put it all together last night.

Wedding Tag

1. What date is your anniversary?
August 10, 2006

2. Where did you get married?
We were married in my stake center but we got sealed for time and eternity on August 20, 2008.

3.Who proposed and how?
Todd proposed. He actually asked me twice, but I go by the second one :o) what he did was planned a "drive in" movie at his place. We watched "The Notebook" in my car and ate popcorn. So it felt like a real drive in. And after the movie he did his cute little speech and then went on one knee and asked me. I was totally taken by surprise that time. It was so romantic and we try to watch "The Notebook" every year.

4.How long were you engaged for ?
A year and a half - a long time but it was worth it

5.What was the favorite part of your wedding day?
Finally being married to my best friend and then just celebrating our special day with family and friends. It was nice to see old friends that have moved away and family that I haven't seen in a while.

6. What would you change if you could?
I would have gone back to the florist and got my throw bouquet (the only flower they forgot)

7.Wedding Colors?
Pink and Yellow

8.Do you remember anything special from your ceremony? Any good advice? A comical note?
No not really. I was so nervous after walking down the aisle. I couldn't really concentrate on what was being said. I guess I can watch the wedding video and see what was said but like I said I was really nervous and all I could do was stare at Todd.

9. Were you clean or messy when you cut your wedding cake?
Clean :o) Todd wanted to shove it in my face but just before he fed it to me I gave him this "Please don't make a mess of my face" look. And he was sweet and didn't.

10.Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to Park City, Utah. We planned to go to Las Vegas but we didn't think my car would make it so we wanted to be close to home in case it broke down or something. But we still had fun.

11. How long have you been married now?
Just a little over 2 years
