Crazy Weather

Wow! What a snow storm we had this afternoon. It was so nice on my way to work and then around 11am I looked out the window and I could NOT see across the parking lot. It was snowing so bad. I'm just glad to be home safe. I hate the snow. I wish it would stay warm all year long ;p But as you can see Pepper had fun in the snow :O) But for all those who have not been outside yet. Be Careful!!! The roads are still pretty bad out there.

Neuro Visit

So I saw my neurologist today. It didn't go as I had hoped it would :( I had gotten myself all worked up to thinking that she would let me off my current seizure medication. So I went in and we talked about the last one I had. I had my mom there with me so she could describe what my seizures were like to the doctor and from what my mom described she doesn't think it would be a good idea to come of the medication especially with us planning on having kids with in the months ahead. The doctor doesn't want me having a seizure while I'm driving or have one while I'm pregnant and then causing problems for the baby, but she did let me know that the seizure medication I'm on is okay to take while pregnant so that's a good thing :) And that's pretty much all we talked about. I'm still disappointed that I'm stuck taking medication for the rest of my life. But I guess as long as it'll keep me safe that's all that matters ... right??? I don't have to see her for another 6 months so maybe things will change by then and we can talk about coming off of it. So we'll see but for now I'll have to find other ways to help gain weight since the Topamax is the main cause of the weight loss... Mom said that she was always little when she was my age so I shouldn't really worry. But I'm still hoping to gain at least 10lbs with in the next couple month.

Fun Video

I was cleaning out my email inbox and I came across this pretty cool video of the song "We didn't start the fire" by Billy Joel. My mom sent it to me a while ago. I only kept it because I thought it was really neat how the video was made. Well when you have time you should check it out.

Daisy's bath

Okay so I know your not suppose to give cats baths because they bathe themselves. But our cat, Daisy, she stunk so bad I couldn't take it anymore. She likes to eat Peppers food - which stinks in the first place and when she licks herself it makes her stink. So I gave her a bath ;p I use to do it to her all the time when she was a kitten just to help her out but I stopped as she got older. Well all I can say is I'm so glad we got her declawed!!! She did not like it. All she did was meow and try to get out. I'm surprised my neighbors did come over to see what was going on. But once she knew she was stuck and getting it done, she settled down and didn't struggle as much. But now my once stinky kitty smells like MANGO and is so soft :)

Visit to the Dr.

Well I've been worrying about my weight and just worrying about a lot of things lately. So I set up an appointment with my 'family' doctor this week. I saw her today and we just discussed things that will help me gain weight. And I know that shouldn't be that big of a deal, but I'm under weight and have been for a while and since Todd and I plan to have kids with in the next year, I cant be under weight for so any reasons! So she and I discussed ways that will help me gain: things like the boost drinks, kind of like insure... and then I need to eat 3 meals a day and NOT skip breakfast ;p like I always do. And I also found out the my seizure medication, one of the side effects is weight loss. So I've set up another doctors appointment with my neurologist for next week to see if I can come off the Topamax(seizure medication) since it'll be *4 years* this July that I have not had a seizure. HOORAY!!! I'm really excited for that four years. I always think back to the first one that I had. Those were the crazy times. But I'm so glad they are over :) Well, I got some blood work just to make sure everything was okay with me. Well I am TERRIFIED off needles and so when I sat in the chair I started sweating and shaking and everything. The nurse couldn't get my vein the first time so she had to try on the left arm. And stupid me, watched the whole thing... And next thing I know I'm really hot, and light headed and going over...... but didn't pass out completely, but I did loose all color and scared all the nurses. I was just glad that I had someone next me to help me up and tell me what to do because I've never passed out like that before so it was a new experience for me. But I have learned my lesson. EAT BEFORE YOU GET BLOOD TAKEN! So next time I go to the doctors no matter what I'll have food in my tummy. But wish me luck on my road to my weight goal. I hope to get there in 6 months. So we shall see.

Happy Brithday Matt

I just want to wish my brother Matt a
HAPPY 23rd
BIRTHDAY

Dad and kitty update

Well things with the cat and my dad are great. My dad came by yesterday to get her and took her to his place. And I'll be honest, I didn't think I'd give her to him because I'd fallen in love with her and wanted to keep her for myself ... but I had to remind myself that we did get her for my dad. But Sweet Pea, my name for her, is loving all the new places to jump and run and explore at dad house and when it was time for bed she just went to sleep on Monday night without a fuss. I guess my dad had worn her out that she just crashed. So it looks like my dad is enjoying her company and is going to be keeping her. So we didn't do to bad ;p

Cute new kitty. . .

But its not for Todd and I. Its for my dad ;p Todd and I gave my dad a 8 week old kitten as a companion, Sweet Pea(I gave her that nick name since I can't name her) so he has some company. Yeah he has Breanna's dog, Nikki, and my cat, Sassy, but they live outside. Where as this cat doesn't. She lives inside and she is such a cute little thing. She cuddles up and gives kisses. When we showed up with her my dad wasn't too thrilled about her but he said that he'd give it a try. That's all I asked for. If the two don't work out Todd and I will have another kitten :o) But my dad is going to Logan this weekend so we are watch Sweet Pea. Man... when we walked though the door at our place and put her on the ground Daisy had a FIT. She does not like her one bit. And I totally understand but she's going to have to get use to her until Monday. Poor Sweet Pea. We are also going to help box train her for my dad. This is going to be a fun weekend ;p

My new do...

The last time I colored and cut my hair was back in August of last year. I decided that I was going to grow it out long and grow it out to my natural color which is a dirty blonde. But it has gotten to the point were I cant stand it anymore. In most of the pictures from the cruise my roots look grey so I decided to go a darker brown and go shorter. Plus Todd likes it short and dark. So here are the before and after pictures.

Before:

After:

Its not as dark as I would have liked it. I'll probably go back next month and go a shade darker ;p And I would have liked to go a little shorter but I am trying to grow my hair out and I wanted to cut off all the split ends so I figured that was short enough. But I think for once I really like my hair cut and color.

Christmas again

Because we went on the cruise Todd and I had a small Christmas. But decided that when we got back we would buy each other a couple other gifts. So we had our 2ND Christmas today. Todd received a video game for his Game Boy and since he is a fan of The Rat Pack (well really just Frank Sinatra), down in St Thomas they had a $1.00 bill with the Rat Pack glued over the presidents head. And so I bought that for him to add to his Frank Sinatra collection. And then I have been always wanting a deep fryer since we've been married, so that's what Todd got me along with a few down loads from I-tunes. But now Christmas is for sure over. The decorations have been taken down and we have finished giving our gifts. Now just wait till next Christmas and do it all over again :)

Breanna and Her Medallion

Yesterday Breanna received her Young Woman's medallion. She had been working on her personal progress for about 6 years and is really excited to finally receive it. My dad wanted to put on a program for her since she is out of YM and out of the ward so he invited family and many of the people that had help Breanna. It was just a small program but a very nice one. We had dinner...lasagna and salad. And then the program followed. After all the speakers my dad presented my sister with her quilt made by my aunt Paula and Grandma Olsen. And then she was given her medallion.

Happy New Year ... 2008!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I cant believe its 2008. Time sure does fly by fast. Well Todd and I weren't going to do anything for the New Year but sit home and relax my mom invited us to go out to her place and have some munchies and play games with her and Les. So that is what we did after watching the movie "The Princess Bride". I don't think I have ever seen the whole move all the way through but if I have I just don't remember seeing it. So Todd went out and bought it so that I could finally see the whole thing and Remember it. But after the movie, we went out to my moms played this fun game called "Killer Bunnies". It took awhile for me to catch on but after a while I finally got the hang of it. I enjoyed playing it so much that I'm thinking to going and buying it for Todd and I. Midnight came and we said goodbye to 2007 and hello to 2008. And after Todd and I got home we celebrated with some sparkling cider since we forgot to open it while at my moms.
