Sleep Over

Our little Allie had her second sleep over yesterday. With us leaving next month we wanted to get all the neighborhood girls together one last time. These 4 always have so much fun together its going to be sad when we all part ways. But I guess what comes with the army. I hope when we get to Colorado Allie makes great friends like she did here. I sure am going to miss everyone here.

Just look at that grin on her face. She loves being with her friends!

New Nightlight

A couple weeks ago I posted on face book that I was having a problem with Allie going to bed. She would cry the minute we walked into her bedroom, cry through the story I read, and as soon as I got up to leave and reached the door she'd get out of bed and run after me, and then once I closed the door she would pound on the door and screaming "mama" and when I didn't get her she'd hit her head on the floor/wall. I hated bed time because of what she did. But after my little post on face book I got many tips and thanks to those tips I am so happy to say she is doing so much better at bedtime. Allie climbs into bed herself and will let me read to her. And after we say our prayers we kiss goodnight and she says "night night" and then waves bye to me ;p She also loves the new night light (fish lava lamp) I got her. When I turn it on she climbs into bed and goes "ishies ishies". When we move and get settled into our new place I plan to buy her a little tank and some fish. She loves looking at fish tanks so why not get her one of her own. But anyway... I'm just happy to say bed time is going so much better now and this is one HAPPY mama! Now we just need Zachary to start sleeping through the night.

2 weeks

Zachary has hit the 2 week mark. He also had his two week appointment yesterday and he's doing GREAT!! I was a happy mom when I left the doctors office. The doctor was happy to see that Zachary had grown since she'd seen him. He's eating a bit more - between 1-2oz per feeding. His jaundice is all gone. I did find out that his tear ducts are clogged so I have to massage them 4-5 times a day to try and unclog them. If they don't end up unclogged by the time hes one the doctor said he'll have to have surgery :-{ so I'm hoping with me massaging them and keeping them clean the ducts will clear up. But other than the clogged tear ducts and spitting up he's doing awesome. Here are Zachary's stats for 2 weeks:

Weight: 5lbs 14oz
Height: 20 1/4in
Head: 34 cm

I looked back to see how Zachary and Allie compared at 2 weeks. They are the same in the weight and head area but Zachary is 1 1/4 inch longer than Allie was. Its pretty fun to see how close they are in areas.

We Have Orders!!!

After months and months of waiting for orders, Todd finally got them last week. We are so excited for these orders and are praying they stick. Well Todd is to report to Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We don't have a report date yet but we are thinking sometime in January. The base is only 9 1/2 hours from home, has way nice housing, and is just in a great place in general. But again we are super excited about these orders.

Allie Time

So for Allie Time the other day I took her across the street to the park. She loves going to the park, well just going outside in general. She now can go down the slide alone. Before she was absolutely terrified of the slide but now just out of the blue she decided she likes them. I love watching her face as she goes down them. She's such a cutie patootie!

Zachary's Birth Story

**Picture Heavy!!!**

I had planned to be induced on October 25th. But after seeing the new doctor and Zachary being diagnosed with IUGR, they decided once I hit 37 weeks they'd induce me.

Friday, October 15, 2010 (37 weeks)
*So on Friday night at 6pm I went to the hospital to get checked in. Well when I got there the front desk informed me that L&D was full and they couldn't get me a room. So I decided to wait in the waiting room (since, at the time, I didn't think I'd be waiting too long. I actually ended up waiting about 5 hours. It was so crazy! Not away to make me happy but oh well.
*So around 11pm that night I finally got checked into my room and hooked up to the machines and found out I was contracting all on my own *yippee* and they were about a minute apart at that time. And I was NOT in pain which was awesome!

Saturday, October 16, 2010
*At 12:05am the doctor that was on call came in and checked me and I was 1cm dilated (before I was just a fingertip), they did an ultrasound and baby was still head down so we could continue with a vaginal delivery. At that time my contractions had slowed down a bit. They were every 1 to 5 minutes apart. Kept jumping around and I still wasn't in any pain, just felt the tightness from them.
*At 12:30am I got my IV put in along with the first round of Penicillin since I test positive for GBS (sadly). But no biggie. I just had to get a round of penicillin every 4 hours till I gave birth. Now I didn't like that stuff because when it went in my arm it stung like no other. The first dose was like a double dose and it made me cry. I felt like ripping the IV out and saying heck with this. But I didn't and stuck it out. I was just glad my mom was there to help talk me through it. After the IV was placed I tried to get some rest but failed ;p
*At 11:41am I was check and was at 1 1/2cm and had softened but not as much as the doctors would like.
*So at 12:35pm I had a pill put on my cervix to help make it a bit more softer. And I don't remember the name of the pill (shoot). At this point I started to actually hurt when I contracted but wasn't quite ready for the epidural so I chose some pain medication.
*At 2:17pm I was *finally* given some Morphine for my pain and oh was I in heaven. I guess it hit instantly and I was pretty dopey for a while. But I sure do love that stuff!!!
*At 5:10pm I was given the pitocin.
*At 7:16pm The doctor came in and checked me again and I was at 3cm.
*At 8:47pm I finally got the epidural.
*At 10:24pm I got checked again and I was at 3.5cm and my cervix has softened a bit more as well. *Side note from my mom ... I guess with me being all drugged up and lack of sleep I was rambling and she caught me saying to her "Mom there's a cop behind you. Make sure you're going slow." HaHa found that pretty funny. Also at this point I started to have an reaction to the epidural. My body just itched all over so I was given some Benadryl for that. I don't remember that happening when I had Allie.

This was the night before I had Zachary. Allie sure didn't like seeing me hooked up like that and in pain

Sunday October 17, 2010
*At 12:41am They broke my water (it was clear) and they also inserted an interuterine catheter to help monitor my contractions better from the cervix.
*At 4:15am They then placed an internal fetal scalp electrode on Zachary's head and they also checked to see that I was at a 5 but the doctor said he could stretch me to a 6. Side note from Nana - "mommy is very cranky and agitated, take note of very!!!"
*4:30am They decided to turn off the pitocin and let baby rest because each time I'd contract his heart rate would decelerate. They wanted to give his heart a rest and see if we resumed the pitocin if it would do the same thing. Because if it did they said we would have to talk about a c section. At that point I was so scared and worried I really wanted him out no matter how it had to happen.
*5:15am They turned the pitocin back on but at a low rate. Also I started to tell my nurse that it felt like I had to poop or push.
*5:38am The doctor rechecked me and I was fully dilated and ready to go! Baby time!!! They had me do 1 practice push and then started getting the room/team ready.
*5:57am: And just after ONE push ... Zachary arrived :)With him being small and all they had the NICU people there just in case. So right after the Todd cut the cord they took him over to the area where they cleaned and looked the baby over. I was sad that they didn't get to clean him up on my chest like with Allie. It took a good full half hour to forty-five minutes before I got to see him. But the NICU doctors said he looked great and gave him an APGAR score of 9 & 9. He definitely was bigger than we all thought but that's good.

We are so grateful to have Zachary as a part of our family. Allie is just in love with him and loves giving him kisses. Todd and I have been blessed with 2 amazing kids and we couldn't be happier!

We're Home!

I'm so happy to say we are home!!! Allie was so happy to see her little brother again. She is totally in love with him and just loves holding him and giving him kisses. Even though its been one day she is there right by his side when I'm changing his diaper and she's willing to help me out. Its awesome! As for Zachary, he is such a good little baby. Only cries when he's hungry. Loves to cuddle. Sleeps a pretty good amount. We sure lucked out with two great kids!

New Doc + I've been admitted

So I saw my new doctor yesterday and it went well ... haha! Here are the highlights from the visit:

* Baby is head down -Yahoo!
* Measuring around 5lb 2oz (I think my other doctors ultrasound machine is broken ;p)
* Doctor diagnosed baby with intrauterine growth retardation (click here for definition). He's measuring at 34 weeks which puts him at the 10 percentile growth wise. So he's gonna be a small baby just like Allie. No surprise there.
* I had an NST done and during the test baby's heart rate dropped and doc didn't like that.
* Still haven't dilated or effaced- really bummed about that!

So now because of the d-cells (baby's heart rate dropping) and growth restriction I have been admitted to the hospital for monitoring and wont leave till I have the baby. I got checked in last night around 7pm and had another NST which came out great so they moved me over to where the moms recover after delivery and I'll stay here till the doctor decides to induce me. I will be having daily NST's and I currently am having a 24 hour urine check for pre-eclampsia. They say that could be a cause of the baby's size. I'm not showing any symptoms of it but there always could be protein in my urine so that's why they are checking, just being cautious.
But to sum it all up I will be having the baby this week sometime just not sure when??? So stay tuned :)

Here I am at 36w 3d. My last belly picture :(
P.s. My mom changed her flight so she arrives TONIGHT at 8pm. I'm so EXCITED!!!

Allie is so cute when it comes to her doll. She treats it so well. As you can see from the pictures below she loves playing the "mommy" roll ;p I took these all in one afternoon and in order. She sure is a silly lil girl.

I'll Cry If I WANT To

So I had my doctors appointment today and it didn't go how I wished it had. I had to have the group b test done (no biggie ;p) and then my doctor started the ultrasound and she tells me right off he's no longer head down. I'm like "you serious???" She said yup and showed me. I was so upset. He's been head down the whole freaking time and NOW he decided to flip a couple weeks before my induction date? I don't get him??? UGH!!! Well then she measures him and he's measuring at 3lbs 14oz. At 32 weeks he was 3lbs 5oz so he only gained 9 ounces in 4 weeks. I'm so scared about his weight. Allie was measuring around 4lbs 14oz at this point. Its so frustrating!!! I'm having him in about 3 weeks what if he's not even 5lbs?? Yeah my hospital has a NICU but I am scared to leave the hospital without my little boy. I asked what I could do to help him gain weight and she said there's nothing really I can do at this point. Even if they hook me up to a bag of sugar and pump it into me (or other high calorie foods) it wouldn't help. I feel like a terrible mom that I cant help him. I'm so upset I can't stop crying. So to sum up my appointment:

*He's not really growing like he should
*He's now breech and if he's still breech on the my induction date I have to have a c-section (which BTW I'm scared to death about)
*I haven't started to dilate but with him being breech that's understandable

I see my doctor again on Tuesday (12th) and I'll be getting another ultrasound. I'm praying he'll have gained weight and will have flipped but only time will tell I guess. But for now all I can say is this sucks big time!!

Round Two...

Today just out of the blue Allie comes up to me and says "pee pee". I thought she was saying "baby baby" so I kinda ignored her but she kept saying it while tugging at her diaper. At that point I decided to put her on the potty and see what happened. After the first two times she just sat there and did nothing but on the third time ALLIE WENT PEE IN POTTY!!! YAHOO!!! I'm so proud of our lil girl. Hopefully this is the start of good things - meaning no more diapers soon (for Allie that is)

Almost Done!

So I saw the doctor yet again today and everything again looks good. I do have to start going in for weekly NST's now. So I'll be in the doctors office twice a week. Lucky me...NOT! NST's are not my favorite thing. Oh well. My doctor and I also disgust being induced. With his size she feels its best if I am induced so we set a date :) I'm not going to tell anyone because of the game. Yes I know being induced defeats the purpose of the game BUT you still can guess on the weight/height and time. So it will still be fun. And hey Baby could always come before I'm induced so you never know ;p
